Themed, 'Linking the South Asian Diaspora', the inaugural South Asian Diaspora Convention (SADC) aims to be a major gathering of prominent members of the international South Asian diaspora.
The convention will provide a premium platform to:

With a collective of interactive sessions, the convention will bring to the table a steady stream of innovative concepts and new perspectives, truly linking the South Asian diaspora in heart and spirit.

Day One: 21 July 2011, Thursday
|
|
The convention will kick start on the first day with the theme, 'Resurgent South Asia'. The first plenary session will have four speakers representing the main South Asian countries - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This will be followed by four speakers from the United States and East Asia (China, South Korea and Japan) for Plenary II. Speakers for Plenary Session III and Plenary IV will share their views on media and business respectively.
Day One will end with a gala dinner that will be graced by President S R Nathan. Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will be special guest. |
Day Two: 22 July 2011, Friday

The theme for the second day is 'Singapore: The Springboard for South Asia'. Mr Piyush Gupta (Chief Executive Officer, DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank); Mr Ho Kwon Ping (Chairman, Singapore Management University); and Ms Chong Siak Ching (President and Chief Executive Officer, Ascendas Pte Ltd) will speak at the plenary session. This will be followed by a plenary session on technology and innovation. The day will end with a dialogue with Mr Lee Kuan Yew, which will be moderated by Professor Kishore Mahbubani (Dean, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore).
Delegates will also have opportunities for private networking sessions. On a lighter note, there will be a special session for foreign delegates to engage in an informal networking interaction at Singapore's latest attraction, ArtScience Museum, at Marina Bay Sands. |

Meet-up sessions will be held at the Compass East Ballroom Lobby, Level B2, Resorts World Convention Centre.

The Diaspora and the New Socio-Economic Framework in Asia: Role of Singapore
The above session to discuss investment opportunities in the region is arranged by Singapore Business Federation, South Asia Business Group, Global Indian Business Network, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)and India Centre Foundation.
