Economic issues are expected to be decisive in determining the outcome of India's 16th general election.
Most opinion polls point to the depressing economic situation in the country and its adverse impact on
the prospects of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in the elections. The economy,
according to most analysts, might actually be the main villain in taking the Congress down, if it actually
does.
