Dr Dinusha Panditaratne is an expert on Sri Lanka’s foreign policy, Indian Ocean regionalism and international law. She is an Advisor to Verité Research and previously served as the Executive Director (2015-2018) and Non-Resident Fellow (2018-2020) of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI), the think tank of Sri Lanka’s foreign ministry. Prior to her appointment at LKI, Dr Panditaratne taught law at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. As an attorney in the State of New York, she also previously worked at Milbank LLP, a law firm on Wall Street.
Dr Panditaratne serves on the board of a leading bank and non-profit organisations in Sri Lanka. She is a member of the Asia-Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament, and previously of the International Advisory Board of the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh.
Dr Panditaratne received her initial degree in law with first-class honours from the University of Oxford and her master’s degree and doctorate from Yale Law School.
